Elliot's Greatest Show

Since the day that The Greatest Showman came out my girls have been OBSESSED! Even years later, we listen to the soundtrack almost daily. The music and choreography is amazing, so easy to groove along to. When my oldest daughter, Elliot, turned 4 she requested a “Greatest Show Party”, so of course, Mama went to work planning it.

I envisioned streamers hanging from the ceiling, mimicking a big top circus tent. Since I am only 5’3”, I recruited my husband to help hang them, since I couldn’t reach. He was not too thrilled about having to climb up and down the ladder 30 times! LOL! But it turned out just as I saw it in my head. And I LOVED it! It was probably the most commented on decoration of the party.

When planning food, I tried to think of things you would by at the circus to stay on theme. Of course, we had “concession stand” foods like: hot dogs, pickles, and peanuts. I threw in some fruit, veggies, and chips just to make sure everyone got enough to eat. I ordered some hot dog sleeves and paper bags for pickles just like you get when you’re at a carnival. I mean, if you’re going to do simple foods, you might as well dress them up a bit!

After everyone ate, we played some games. We had a three legged race, potato sack race, and a balance the egg race. It was HOT but we still had fun! Then we quickly went back inside to the air conditioning, LOL!

The party turned out so cute and everyone had fun. Elliot still talks about this party, she LOVED it! I love throwing my girls special parties that are themed around things that they like at that time. Something a little different and not the “normal” character parties. Another fun factor I added, was a popcorn machine! It was self-serve and guests could really eat as much as they want. Popcorn is one of my FAVORITE snacks, and I was probably most excited about munching on it while decorating. I ordered the popcorn bags off of Amazon as well.

The cake turned out SO super cute! I wanted it to have red and white stripes like the big top and also have a top hat! I had the cake made by a young man named Joshua, local to Huntsville. He also made the cookies that we gave out are party favors. He is so talented and everything we have ever ordered from him has been delicious. Check out his Facebook page Peaceful Pastries! He took my vision and made it even better than I expected.
