Emery's Grinchy 3rd Birthday!

This year Emery asked for cupcakes. We had never had cupcakes at our birthday parties before, but whatever the little lady wants, little lady gets! I wanted to try to make cupcakes go with our theme so I asked Publix to put a green layer of frosting under a little santa hat. They nailed it! How cute are these? I was so happy with the price point too! I got 2 dozen cupcakes for only $24. Plus Publix cake is SO good. If you haven’t tried it, go get a “no reason cake”.

Every party I have our guest sign something. Most of the time it is a book that goes with our party theme. So, of course, this time it was the classic Dr. Suess How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The girls love having these memories and we always read the book at bedtime the night after their party.

Since we had to have the party mid afternoon, I decided to not make a meal but have a hot cocoa and cookie bar! I made homemade cocoa and cookies, as well green rice krispy treats and green + red velvet cake balls. It was so fun! And a sugar overload, LOL! My homemade cocoa is a fan fave, you’ve got to try it!

Crockpot Hot Cocoa

1 can of Sweetened Condensed Milk
1/2 cup Dry Baking Cocoa
1/8 tsp. Salt
7 1/2 cups of Water
1 1/2 tsp. Vanilla

Dump all ingredients in crockpot and heat on warm for 1 hour before serving. Top with your favorite toppings: Marshmallows, whip cream, peppermint sticks, chocolate chips or syrup, etc.

Emery loved her “Mr. Gwinch” Party! It was so fun and the perfect celebration for my goofy girl. Who says people with birthdays close to Christmas can’t have the best parties?!

When your birthday is two weeks after Christmas, you have a Grinch Party! This Mama was all for that idea, leaving up our Christmas decor and adding a little bit of Whoville swag. Emery loves “Mr. Grinch” and she watches the movie year round, so when she told me that she wanted a Grinch birthday party, I wasn’t surprised.

I also made one of my “famous” balloon arches. This time it was mostly red and green with a few clear confetti balloons. I have actually had many comments that it’s not an Adams party if there’s not a balloon arch; which is totally true! LOL! I love adding balloons to parties. It makes it look like I really tried, even if I didn’t. And that’s my jam!

This time we played a saran wrap game. It’s SO much fun. We all sat in a circle and passed around the large ball of saran wrap. Inside there are goodies, candy, small toys, gift cards, whatever you want to gift as prizes. You layer the prizes in multiple layers of the wrap until it’s a large ball. When sitting in the circle, the person in front of you rolls two die. The roller attempts to roll doubles as the person with the ball tries to unroll the saran wrap with one hand. Once the roller gets doubles, the ball is passed to them. Whatever prizes you unwrap during your turn are yours!
