Fall Bucket List
Fall is my favorite time of year! This season, Alabama seems to have forgotten how to get cooler, because it is almost 100 degrees mid October. Each year I like to write down some trips, activities, and meals I want to do/make before Autumn is over.
While I am dreaming of cool crisp air, I thought I would share some previous Fall memories and our 2018 Family Fall Bucket List! I try to include new things and our old traditions, so there is a happy medium and we don’t get bored of doing the same ol’ thing.
Every year we make sure to go to Tate Farms, a local family farm that has tons of Fall activities. The girls love to choose their own pumpkins, while riding on a hay bale that is pulled by a tractor. They have giant corn cribs where you can literally swim in corn. (Funny fact: Two years ago, we learned the hard way that the corn gives me hives. LOL!) They also have 2 cotton jumping pillows, hay bale mazes, farm animal petting zoo, and a two story play barn with crazy long slides! We try to go at least twice each season, so we can enjoy all the fun!
We also look forward to dressing up for Halloween! The girls usually have two costumes: one that they wear to church events or parties, and a second that they wear on Halloween. I know… that sounds crazy. BUT, usually the first outfit is something easy and inexpensive. ;) I just love for them to have a lot of fun and dressing up a few times, if just that…FUN! On our Bucket list we usually add a Church Fall Festival, Trick or Treating, and a Halloween party! This year our family friends are hosting a spooking party out on their land, its going to be a blast!
We also love to have a few fires in the yard every years. We roast marshmallows and hot dogs! This is fun to do all together and just gives us time to sit around, unwind, and talk. Some years we will carve our pumpkins around the fire, but it doesn’t provide the best carving light, LOL!
